Deciding to get dental implants is a big decision, and should not be taken lightly. If you have made up your mind though, and have been looking around, you will know that aside from changing the inside of your mouth forever, it will also cost you a pretty penny as well. This is why every single dental implant manufacturer and implant dentist will have guarantees that they take very seriously. This is a topic of much interest, and it is something that perhaps isn’t the clearest in most people’s heads. This article is meant to deal with the kinds of guarantees associated with dental implants.
Different kinds of dental implant guarantees
When someone says the words “dental implant guarantee”, they can mean one of two things: the manufacturer’s guarantee, or the dentist’s guarantee. The first one regards the materials and the dental implant itself, the second is a promise made about the procedure and that the conditions of the procedure.
Manufacturer’s guarantee: This is a 5, 10, 15 or even 25 (or sometimes lifetime) year guarantee that is with regard to the dental implant itself. The manufacturer says that no structural problem of any sort will happen to the dental implant in the time that you signed up for. That means no breaking, no cracking, no reactions, and that the dental implant will remain structurally sound throughout those years.
Dentist’s guarantee: This is usually a guarantee that no infections will be transmitted during implantation, that implantation will occur, that it will occur right, and that no harm will befall you during the procedure itself. Usually, if the dental implant fails for some reason, re-implantation is offered for free.
