“I am about to get a wisdom tooth removed, as my teeth are cracking from being pushed together. The surgery is pretty scary, the tooth needs to be surgically rmeoved, and is only partially erupted, and the roots go beneath other teeth as well. I have been reading the post operative instructions and it says that smoking is forbidden. I am a pack a day man, and I can go for a while without cigarettes, the question is, how long will I have to last without them?”

“I have recently suffered an automobile accident in which I lost the bottom half of my teeth, including the front ones, all the way to the back molars. At first, I was devastated, thinking I am going to have to get dentures and the whole ridiculously embarrassing procedures and situations that wearing dentures entails (i am 43). The doctor who was treating me at the hospital said I can get dental implants and forego all of that. I was informed about the price, and after working hard for two years I finally have enough money put aside that I can afford them.

“I am not sure if this is a dental problem, but my mouth is constantly dry. Does this have anything to do with dentistry, or is the problem related to some other issue, like with the endocrine system, or possibly hormones? I drink over 2 liters of water a day, and still my mouth is dry all the time! What can I do?”

“ I take care of my teeth very well, and I do not smoke or drink alcohol. I brush twice a day, floss once, and use mouthwash every time. I am noticing that there are cracks running up and down the enamel of my teeth. They do not hurt, and I am not experiencing problems, but I am noticing small lines running around the outside of my enamel. What is causing this? Is it cold or hot foods? I laos notice that my jaw is in pain more and more often. Am I lacking some vitamin?”

“ I am thinking of getting a dental implant. I am 65 years old, and have had a partial denture for 3 years now. What are my chances? Should I get them? Will I need a bone graft?”
