Yet another study has seen the light of day which proves that smoking can cause dental implant failure. This is small surprise to the world of dentistry, as the negative effects of smoking on the human oral cavity have been known for a long time. We wish to deal a little with what kinds of troubles you can expect if you have dental implants and still continue to smoke.

The first thing that patients usually say or know about dental implants is that it is very expensive. Compared to other forms of dentistry, the price is staggeringly higher, and for a layperson, it may not be completely clear why this is the case. In this article I wish to speak a little about dental implants, how they are used, what kind of process you need to go through to get them, how much they cost and what extra fees you may need to pay in order to get your dental implants.

Instant implants, or immediate load dental implants are designed specially to be able to be loaded right after implantation. This means no healing time, once the dental implant is inserted, it can be used to bite and chew immediately after the anesthetic has worn off. This of course raises many questions in patient’s minds; what is that structural difference that makes this possible? Is it worth it? Are there any consequences? With this article, I aim to explain a little bit about how these implants work, and how they are different from regular dental implants.
